The Registration & Electoral Office has approved three organisations to conduct exit polls at Legislative Council Election polling stations.
They are the Hong Kong Research Association, the Public Opinion Programme of the University of Hong Kong and the Sing Pao Newspaper Company.
The office reminded electors today that participation in exit polls is voluntary and it is their right to keep votes secret.
The Government has not commissioned any person or organisation to conduct exit polls.
All approved exit poll interviewers are required to wear an identification badge showing clearly the identity of the organisation conducting the poll and the name of the interviewer.
They should not speak to or communicate with the candidates or their agents there.
Interviews are also not allowed inside polling stations.
