Chief Secretary Carrie Lam visited the Temple of Literature in Hanoi today to inspect Vietnam's preservation of heritage sites and conclude her visit to the country.
Built in 1070, the temple housed Vietnam’s first national university. It has survived war and natural disasters, and has preserved ancient architectural styles and precious relics.
She later attended a lunch meeting with Hanoi People's Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Doan Toan to discuss boosting ties with Hong Kong.
Mrs Lam also visited an apparel factory owned by a Hong Kong-based global company which can produce 16 million apparel items a year, creating more than 7,000 jobs for the local population.
Mrs Lam will return to Hong Kong tonight.
