Returning Officers exercised their legal authority when deciding on the validity of Legislative Council election nominations.

Chief Executive CY Leung made the statement today, saying the officers faced no political interference when deciding on the nominations' validity, adding their decisions were impartial.

He has not contacted Returning Officers regarding their decisions, he added.
