Court assistants:  Secretary for the Civil Service Clement Cheung (second right) meets Judiciary Administration staff.

Secretary for the Civil Service Clement Cheung visited the Judiciary today to learn more about the work of civil servants in the Judiciary Administration.

He first met with Judiciary Administrator Emma Lau and directorate staff.

He then toured a High Court room and observed the work of Judicial Clerks and Court Interpreters in court proceedings.

Mr Cheung later inspected the Digital Audio Recording & Transcription Services control room.

He leaned how the Probate Registry helps the Registrar to process grant applications and raise requisitions, and other functions, like those of the Official Administrator.

Mr Cheung then toured the Bailiff Section and learned that Bailiffs carry out the execution of court orders and judgments, serving court summonses and other important legal documents to ensure justice is fairly administered.

Before concluding his visit Mr Cheung met staff representatives of various civil service grades in the Judiciary Administration at a tea gathering. He praised them for their efforts and encouraged them to continue providing quality support services.
