Director of Information Services Patrick Nip will succeed Richard Yuen as Permanent Secretary for Food & Health (Health) on July 6, while Deputy Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development (Communications & Creative Industries) Joe Wong will take over Mr Nip's present post.
Secretary for the Civil Service Clement Cheung said the appointees, with their proven leadership and management skills, will serve the community with professionalism and rise to the challenges ahead.
Mr Yuen will retire after 35 years in the Government, having overseen the implementation of the Electronic Health Record Sharing System and spearheading the consultation on the Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme during his tenure at the Food & Health Bureau.
