The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Central Government hope to improve the notification mechanism between the two jurisdictions, Chief Executive CY Leung says.
The Central Government yesterday agreed to start discussion on the notification mechanism between Hong Kong and the Mainland, in response to Mr Leung's proposal made on June 20.
Mr Leung told reporters ahead of today's Executive Council meeting that officials will review the mechanism and recommend improvements.
He thanked the Central Government for its positive response and said he hopes to see progress soon.
