Chief Executive CY Leung has inspected a cancer research facility and the airport in Toulouse.

On the second day of his official visit to France today Mr Leung toured Oncopole, a leading cancer research facility that invents and commercialises new medicines and equipment.

He learned about the prevention and control of cancer, a major public health issue in Hong Kong.

Before departing for Paris he inspected Toulouse Airport. He said he was impressed with the airport's new initiatives to enhance its infrastructure, noting that Hong Kong International Airport could borrow from Toulouse's experience in constructing its new runway and facilities.

In Paris Mr Leung attended a luncheon hosted by Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Development Jean-Marc Ayrault.

He will later visit Centrale-Supelec, a key training and research centre in engineering sciences in the Paris-Saclay technology cluster, and host a reception for Hong Kong people living in France to learn more about their work and life.
