CE to visit France

Chief Executive CY Leung will visit France from June 7 to 10 to meet with political and business leaders.

 

He will also lead 19 engineering students from Hong Kong tertiary institutions to visit aviation technology, scientific research, innovation and technology institutions in Toulouse and Paris.

 

On June 7, Mr Leung will meet with Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi-Pyrénées Region President Carole Delga in Toulouse and attend a luncheon.

 

He will then visit Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile (National School of Civil Aviation) and Airbus facilities, and attend a dinner hosted by Cathay Pacific and Airbus.

 

The following day Mr Leung will visit Toulouse Airport and Oncopole, a cancer research centre. He will leave for the Plateau de Saclay in Paris that afternoon to visit CentraleSupélec, a training and research centre for the Paris-Saclay technology cluster.

 

In the evening he will attend a dinner hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Development of France Jean-Marc Ayrault and meet with Hong Kong people living in France.

 

On June 9, Mr Leung will meet with French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, visit an incubator and attend a luncheon hosted by the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office of Brussels and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

 

In the afternoon he will meet with the French National Assembly's France-China Friendship Group before leaving for Hong Kong that evening.

 

Mr Leung will be joined on the visit by Secretary for Transport & Housing Prof Anthony Cheung, Secretary for Innovation & Technology Nicholas Yang, Director of the Chief Executive's Office Edward Yau and Director of Information Services Patrick Nip.

 

Financial Secretary John Tsang will be Acting Chief Executive during Mr Leung's absence.
