Chief Executive CY Leung today signed the Hong Kong Institute of Education (Amendment) Bill 2016 at the Chief Executive's Office.
The bill was passed by the Legislative Council on May 19.
The Hong Kong Institute of Education will be retitled the Education University of Hong Kong tomorrow.
It will become the 10th university and the eighth publicly-funded university in Hong Kong.
