The security arrangements for the visit of National People's Congress Standing Committee Chairman Zhang Dejiang were necessary.
Chief Executive CY Leung made the statement today in response to media enquiries on security preparations for Mr Zhang’s Hong Kong visit over the last three days.
He said the Government relied on the professional judgement of Police.
He noted that during the visit, Mr Zhang received a briefing on the Government’s work, met with people from different sectors and visited various places to learn more about the city’s political, economic and social situation.
He said Mr Zhang now thoroughly understands Hong Kong’s circumstances.
