Clement Cheung visits Gov't architects

Design details:  Secretary for the Civil Service Clement Cheung (right) tours the Architectural Services Department's Project Management Branch.

Secretary for the Civil Service Clement Cheung visited the Architectural Services Department today to learn about its work and meet its staff.

 

Accompanied by Permanent Secretary for the Civil Service Thomas Chow, he met Director of Architectural Services Leung Koon-kee and directorate staff.

 

Mr Cheung toured the department's resource centre which stores more than 6,000 items providing staff with design inspiration and professional reference materials.

 

He also visited the Project Management Branch which provides project management services for the design and construction of buildings and facilities to bureaus and departments on their proposed projects.

 

Architectural Branch staff briefed Mr Cheung on their architectural and landscape designs and noted that the Wo Hop Shek Crematorium project received an international architectural award this year.

 

Mr Cheung concluded his visit by meeting with staff representatives. He praised them for their efforts and encouraged them to upkeep quality community facilities to enrich the living environment.
