Civil service chief visits Police base

On the radar:  Secretary for the Civil Service Clement Cheung visits the Police Kowloon East Operational Base.

Secretary for the Civil Service Clement Cheung visited the Police Kowloon East Operational Base today to inspect its facilities and meet staff.

 

Accompanied by Permanent Secretary for the Civil Service Thomas Chow and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Management) Alfred Chau, Mr Cheung first met with Accident Investigation Team and Enforcement & Control Division officers.

 

He was briefed on the different vehicles and equipment used by frontline staff and learned how they deter drink-driving and speeding, and investigate traffic accidents.

 

Mr Cheung spoke with Operations Wing officers and Headquarters Response Contingent members to learn about their roles in dealing with large-scale public events.

 

He concluded his visit by meeting with staff representatives at a tea gathering to discuss the challenges frontline officers face when serving the public.

 

He praised the officers for their efforts and encouraged them to continue performing their duties efficiently and providing excellent services to ensure Hong Kong remains one of the safest and most stable societies in the world.
