All young District Council election candidates – regardless of whether they won or lost in the weekend polls – will be invited to join government committees and boards to serve the community, Chief Executive CY Leung said.
Speaking to the media before attending an Executive Council meeting, Mr Leung said the Government will contact the young candidates to learn about their interest in serving the community.
He stressed that the Government will invite people of the right calibre to join, regardless of their political views. As long as they are willing to serve the Government, the administration will heed their opinions.
He added that the election results represent a broad spectrum of views, which well represents Hong Kong society.
