Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen has expressed concern over threats being made against Deputy Magistrate Michael Chan.
Mr Chan said he received threats after a recent court case.
Speaking to reporters today, Mr Yuen said that while people have the right to express views on court judgments, they should do it within the confines of the law.
He said Hong Kong society respects the rule of law, including judicial decisions, warning that any contempt of court actions will be followed up by Police.
