Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen has reiterated that the Mainland's new national security law is not targeting Hong Kong nor applicable here.
Mr Yuen was speaking to reporters in Beijing today. Mr Yuen said if lawmaker Lee Cheuk-yan were to carry out a plan to visit the Mainland to "test the waters", he could not pledge Mr Lee would not be arrested. He stressed that it was not up to Hong Kong officials to make pledges on such issues.
On how the Government would help in the event Mr Lee was arrested, Mr Yuen said it would be done according to the established mechanism.
