Chief Executive CY Leung spoke at a business symposium, and met officials and business leaders, as he continued his Chicago visit yesterday.

He spoke at the annual Think Asia, Think Hong Kong symposium held by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

He invited the audience to take advantage of Hong Kong's super-connector capabilities between the Mainland of China and the world, including the US.

He said Hong Kong, as both China's international financial centre and the world's China financial capital, also serves as China's launch pad for its financial reforms, and as its gateway for the opening up of its financial markets.

"So we enjoy first-mover advantages, and we have first-hand knowledge and experiences. We are pleased to share them with US businesses and investors."

He later met with Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago President Charles Evans and Chicago Council on Global Affairs President Ivo Daalder.

He then met Mayor Rahm Emanuel and spoke at a dinner held by the HKTDC, inviting the audience to visit Hong Kong.

Today, Mr Leung will meet University of Chicago President Prof Robert Zimmer, and Dean of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Prof Sunil Kumar.

He will end the trip by attending a luncheon with members of the Hong Kong-United States Business Council and board members of World Business Chicago.
