CE visits Police Headquarters

Support centre:  Chief Executive CY Leung (second left) is briefed on the operation of the Headquarters Command & Control Centre.

Chief Executive CY Leung visited Police Headquarters today to learn about the Police's work in combating counterfeit currency and to inspect the Headquarters Command & Control Centre.

 

Mr Leung was accompanied by Secretary for Security TK Lai and Commissioner of Police Stephen Lo.

 

He visited the Commercial Crime Bureau's Counterfeits Exhibition Room which displays counterfeit currency and production equipment.

 

Mr Leung said that while the counterfeit banknote situation in Hong Kong is stable, Police will continue to strengthen intelligence exchange and co-operation.

 

He was then briefed on how the control centre supports the command of major Police operations and observed training on the handling of public events.

 

Mr Leung said the force is well trained and fully prepared to discharge its duties professionally and efficiently.

 

He concluded the visit by meeting with officers from crime and operations units, and encouraging them to continue to uphold impartiality and professionalism in combating crime, safeguarding the rule of law and preserving public safety.
