Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen has welcomed that Court of Final Appeal’s judgment on the estate of Nina Wang, saying it helps clarify the way forward in handling the late tycoon's estate.
The court today ruled the Chinachem Charitable Foundation was entitled to hold the estate’s assets as a charitable trust.
Mr Yuen said the Department of Justice has the duty to ensure the fund can be put to the best charitable use.
It will liaise with lawyers, the independent temporary estate administrator appointed by the court, and the Chinachem Charitable Foundation in deciding the way forward, he added.
