Judicial independence is a prerequisite to the rule of law, and judges' decisions should be fully respected, Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen said today.
Speaking to the media, Mr Yuen said he understands that the community disapproves of unlawful behaviour which disrupts the social order, and expects the court to handle such cases properly.
He added that people could discuss how the courts handle cases related to social order disruption, but their comments and discussions should be appropriate. Otherwise, they could prejudice the rule of law.
