Chief Executive CY Leung said today that ATV's licence renewal application is being handled according to established procedures and the law, and an announcement will be made once a decision has been reached. 

He told reporters that the Government has taken the necessary action over the company's failure to pay staff, adding that such behaviour is subject to legal sanctions.

Mr Leung this morning refused to comment on the Urban Renewal Authority Managing Director's resignation, but did stress that the authority is an important statutory organisation that plays a crucial role in the city's redevelopment.
