Chief Executive CY Leung has submitted a report on the parallel trading issue to the Central Government.
He made the statement after attending the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2015 in Hainan.
He admitted that both the numbers of parallel traders and Mainland visitors have been growing rapidly over the past year, having an impact on local residents’ lives in certain districts. He is following up with the Guangdong Provincial Government over the issue.
He noted that he had met with President Xi Jinping, but they did not discuss anything official.
