The Government has appointed Prof Arthur Li as Council for Sustainable Development Chairman for a two-year term starting March 1, replacing Bernard Chan.
Council members for the new term have also been appointed and represent a balanced mix of stakeholders from different sectors of the community.
The council advises the Government on priority areas for promoting sustainable development that will integrate environmental, social and economic perspectives.
It also seeks to encourage community participation and promote awareness and understanding of sustainable development principles.
The Government thanked outgoing members for their contribution to the council's work in the past years.
