Lawmakers' filibustering holds back social progress and hinders government works, and people have had enough of it, Chief Executive CY Leung said today.
He was speaking to reporters after the Legislative Council Finance Committee today failed to pass funding for a proposal to set up an Innovation & Technology Bureau.
He added that the pro-democrats' delaying tactic was tantamount to sending a gift to Hong Kong's competitors - but a poor message to the local technology sector on Valentine's Day.
Mr Leung maintained that innovation and technology are important to Hong Kong, adding that the authority will soon submit to the Legislative Council a proposal to set up the Innovation & Technology Bureau, for the third time.
