Chief Secretary Carrie Lam and Fujian Vice-Governor Zheng Xiaosong co-chaired the first Hong Kong-Fujian Co-operation Conference in Fuzhou today.
Mrs Lam said establishing the conference has brought exchanges and co-operation between the two places to a new level, better leveraging their strengths and promoting development.
At the meeting, the two sides signed agreements on strengthening co-operation in economic, trade and financial aspects.
The first agreement covered co-operation in the service industry, assisting Fujian enterprises to explore overseas markets and attract foreign investment and tourism.
The agreement on financial co-operation focused on the banking, insurance, securities and accounting services industries, and the financial market.
Mrs Lam also called on CPC Fujian Provincial Committee Secretary You Quan and Fujian Governor Su Shulin, had a lunch meeting with Federation of Fujian Associations representatives, toured the Fuzhou City Planning Exhibition Hall and visited the Hong Kong Government's liaison unit in the province.
