In memoriam:  The Nanjing Massacre National Memorial Day ceremony is held at the Museum of Coastal Defence.

Chief Executive CY Leung and other senior officials today attended a memorial service for the victims of the Nanjing massacre and Japanese invasion.

 

Held at the Redoubt Courtyard at the Museum of Coastal Defence, the ceremony included the national anthem, a moment of silence and wreath laying.

 

Attendees included a Judiciary representative, members of the Legislative and Executive Councils, representatives of war veteran groups, and members of the community.

 

The Museum of Coastal Defence is staging an exhibition on the massacre until January 7.

 

Admission to the museum is free today.

 

The same exhibition is also being held in Tsuen Wan Town Hall, the Central Government Offices in Tamar, Revenue Tower and Sha Tin Government Offices until December 31, and at Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices from December 17 to 31.
