Senior appointments announced

The Government today announced four senior appointments, involving the posts of Permanent Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development, Permanent Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury, Commissioner for Tourism and Director of the Beijing Office.

 

Permanent Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development (Commerce, Industry & Tourism) Andrew Wong will succeed Au King-chi to assume the post of Permanent Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury (Financial Services) on December 30.

 

Mr Wong’s post will be succeeded by Commissioner for Tourism Philip Yung will on December 27.

 

Director of the Beijing Office Cathy Chu will assume the post of Commissioner for Tourism on December 22 and her post will be taken up by Deputy Secretary for Home Affairs Gracie Foo on January 21.

 

Commenting on the appointments, Secretary for the Civil Service Paul Tang said the appointees are seasoned administrative officers with rich experience in public administration and proven leadership and management skills.

 

He has confidence that they will continue to serve the community with professionalism and dedication in their new capacities.

 

On the retirement of Au King-chi after 32 years of service with the Government, Mr Tang said Miss Au has served with strong drive and dedication in the civil service throughout the years and has made exemplary contributions to the development of Hong Kong.
