Gov't supports GD projects

The Government will actively participate in the Qianhai, Nansha and Hengqin development projects, Chief Secretary Carrie Lam said today.

 

Mrs Lam told reporters before leaving for Beijing this morning that she will attend the 18th Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Co-operation Symposium where issues including creative economies, youth entrepreneurship and food safety will be discussed.

 

The Chief Secretary will then join the first Inter-ministries Joint Conference on the Promotion of the Development of Qianhai, Nansha and Hengqin in Guangdong. 

 

She said the Government will support development projects within those regions as long as they are mutually beneficial and result in a win-win situation, adding that the Chief Executive always values co-operation between Hong Kong and Guangdong.

 

Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Prof KC Chan, Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So and Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Raymond Tam will also be in Beijing.
