Door to dialogue open: Gov't

October 05, 2014

Chief Secretary Carrie Lam is ready to continue preparations for dialogue with the Federation of Students, the Government says.

In a statement issued today, the Government said the door to dialogue is always open.

While preparing for the dialogue, it said it hopes that the federation and other organisations can assist in two aspects.

One is the reopening of the footbridge leading to the Central Government Offices, and access to Lung Wo Road and Tim Wa Avenue, to allow 3,000 government staff to return to work tomorrow and to enable the normal functioning of the Government's headquarters.

The other is reopening carriageways in Admiralty to alleviate the impact on traffic in the area, and to allow schools in Central & Western and Wan Chai districts to resume classes.
