Flag raising marks 65th National Day

October 01, 2014

Chief Executive CY Leung and senior government officials attended a flag raising ceremony this morning to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

About 2,500 people, including invited guests, senior government officials, and members of youth uniformed groups and community organisations, attended the ceremony at Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai this morning.

Many people also turned up to watch the flag raising from the designated viewing area.

The Police Band, together with a mixed choir from the Diocesan Boys' School, Diocesan Girls' School and St Paul's Co-educational College Primary School, performed at the ceremony, which was followed by a disciplined services sea parade and fly-past.
