TS Tsang meets Korean counterparts

Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing met with Korea's Minister of Culture, Sports & Tourism Prof Kim Jong-deok in Seoul today to discuss arts, culture and sports development.

 

Mr Tsang complimented Korea on its comprehensive work as the host of the 17th Asian Games. He also mentioned the possibility of Hong Kong learning about soccer development from Korea.

 

"Hong Kong and Korea have robust markets for arts and culture. They both possess profound history and traditions and encourage more in-depth and frequent interaction and high-quality co-operation," Mr Tsang said.

 

He then met with the Vice Mayor for Political Affairs in Seoul Im Jong-seok and President of the Korea Youth Work Agency Kim Sun-dong.

 

Mr Tsang also visited the areas of Insa-dong and Daehakno to learn about Seoul's cultural and art spaces.

 

Before returning to Hong Kong tomorrow night, Mr Tsang will meet with the Vice Minister for Gender Equality & Family Kwon Yong-hyun, and make stops at the Seoul Institute of the Arts, the Korea Culture & Tourism Institute, and the Haja Centre.
