Secretary for the Civil Service Paul Tang today visited Hongkong Post’s Central Mail Centre in Kowloon Bay to learn about its daily operation and the services it provides.

 

He met with Postmaster General Jessie Ting and directorate staff, and learned that Hongkong Post strives to provide affordable postal and related services of good quality to the local community.

 

During a tour of the Bulk Mail Acceptance Counter, Mr Tang was briefed on the streamlined posting arrangements for bulk mailers and the new integrated postal services system.

 

Later Mr Tang toured the Indoor Section, the Sorting Section and the Mechanised Letter Sorting System Section, where machines with state-of-the-art technology have been installed to enhance the efficiency of mail processing.

 

Before concluding his visit, he met with staff representatives at a tea reception.
