Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing is in Shanghai supporting the Hong Kong delegation in the 12th National Student Sports Games.

He watched table tennis matches yesterday, and joined the event’s opening ceremony last night.

He watched swimming and wushu events today and had lunch with the athletes, encouraging them to learn from their national peers, broaden their horizons and interact with people of different cultures.

The Hong Kong delegation has 44 athletes competing in athletics, swimming, table tennis and wushu.

Mr Tsang also met four young people in an internship programme funded by the Home Affairs Bureau, and met with the Shanghai Youth Federation.

He will visit the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture, Radio, Film & TV tomorrow before returning to Hong Kong.
