Bin disruption plan: CS

July 29, 2014

Chief Secretary Carrie Lam today met with Occupy Central organisers and told them the Government disagrees with their planned protest action and urges them to scrap the idea.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Ms Lam said Occupy Central’s plan is unacceptable as it will disrupt the daily operation of Hong Kong’s central business district.

She said many business organisations have expressed concern over the plan, adding that threatening actions will not change the Central Government’s stance on the selection of Hong Kong’s chief executive.

Mrs Lam urged the organisers to heed the Government’s advice.

She added she has not signed in the Alliance for Peace & Democracy in Hong Kong’s signature campaign.
