CE to visit Sweden, Belgium

Chief Executive CY Leung will visit Stockholm and Brussels from May 10 to 16 to promote trade ties with Sweden and Belgium.

 

In Stockholm Mr Leung will meet Sweden’s Finance Minister Anders Borg, Information Technology & Energy Minister Anna-Karin Hatt, the city’s Mayor Sten Nordin, and Governor of Sweden’s central bank Stefan Ingves.

 

He will also visit the Karolinska Institutet, the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and inspect the Stockholm rail network and other development projects.

 

He will then speak at a dinner co-hosted by the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in London, and at a roundtable dinner hosted by the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.

 

In Brussels Mr Leung will meet King Philippe and call on European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and European Council President Herman Van Rompuy.

 

He will speak at a European Business Summit breakfast meeting and at a business leaders’ luncheon. He will also meet Hong Kong people living in Belgium.

 

Director of the Chief Executive's Office Edward Yau and Director of Information Services Patrick Nip will accompany him.

 

Chief Secretary Carrie Lam will be Acting Chief Executive during his absence.
