Gov’t to aid typhoon victims

Chief Executive CY Leung says the Government will seek Legislative Council approval on Friday for funds to aid typhoon victims in the Philippines.
 
Speaking to reporters today, Mr Leung said the proposed injection to the Disaster Relief Fund is for grants to non-governmental organisations to provide emergency aid.
  
The Government contacted several local NGOs yesterday, and hopes their grant applications can be processed as quickly as possible.
