Barry Cheung resigns

Chief Executive CY Leung has received and accepted Barry Cheung's resignation with immediate effect from all public service positions, including the Executive Council and the Urban Renewal Authority, on the grounds that Mr Cheung is under police investigation.
 
Mr Leung reiterated that law enforcement agencies, including Police and the Securities & Futures Commission, will act impartially in their investigations of the Hong Kong Mercantile Exchange and Mr Cheung in accordance with the law.
