A total of 39 nomination forms for the 2012 Legislative Council Election were received today, the first day of the nomination period.
Twenty-three nomination forms were received for the five geographical constituencies, with six from Hong Kong Island; two from Kowloon West; three from Kowloon East; nine from New Territories West; and three from New Territories East.
A total of 16 nomination forms were received from the 29 functional constituencies. There are two nominations from the education sector; one from medical sector; two from engineering sector; two from labour sector; one from social welfare sector; one from industrial (one) sector; one from financial services sector; one from textiles and garment sector, one from information technology sector; and four district council (second) sector.
