Pay Trend Survey Report issued

May 15, 2012

The 2012 Pay Trend Survey Report was released today, showing gross pay trend indicators of 5.71%, 6.64% and 6.01% for the lower, middle and upper salary bands.

The report was submitted by the Joint Secretariat for the Advisory Bodies on Civil Service & Judicial Salaries & Conditions of Service.

The Civil Service Bureau said the payroll cost of civil service increments for the lower, middle and upper salary bands is 1.15%, 0.84% and 0.75%.

The Pay Trend Survey Committee will validate the gross pay trend indicators on May 22.

The payroll cost of civil service increments will be deducted from the respective gross pay trend indicators to produce the net pay trend indicator for each salary band.

The administration will take into account the Pay Trend Indicators and the state of the economy, the Government's fiscal position, changes in the cost of living, pay claims of the staff sides and civil service morale, before making a decision on the 2012-2013 civil service pay adjustment.
