    543 tickets issued in traffic-day blitz

    Police issued 543 fixed-penalty tickets and 222 summonses to road users violating traffic regulations during Kowloon East Regional Traffic Day.

     

    The blitz concluded at 11pm yesterday, having seen 209 officers patrolling accident blackspots across eastern Kowloon.

     

    They issued 273 fixed-penalty tickets for illegal parking and 270 for traffic offences. They also cautioned 275 pedestrians and 94 drivers for minor offences and gave out road-safety leaflets.

     

    Up to July there were 1,165 traffic accidents involving casualties in eastern Kowloon.
